An Islayer from a German bottler, let’s see how this youngster behaves.
Color: Gold.
Nose: Sweet and fruity in the arrival - unripe fruits to be exact. Like being in a farm; notes of wool and hay. Vanilla and oak from the oak. Water releases distinctive pear notes.
Palate: Quite hot and harsh as neat, this definitely needs some water. Sweetness in the form of honey and heavish spicy bourbon oak notes with some orange zest bitterness. The palate is more introvert than extrovert, if you know what I mean - maybe water will reveal its hidden secrets. With water: it brings (luckily) some sweetness to the palate, also some pear, lychee and bitter unripe notes of ginger and grapefruit. Hmmm. This certainly lacks some depth, but hey, we are talking about 6 yo malt here so…
Finish: Semi-long with notes of grapefruit & oak.
IMHO a little bit mono-dimensional and unbalanced juvenile. Maybe also too zesty for me, some more sweetness on the palate wouldn’t do any harm. Someone might love this, it is just not my style.

Un isleño de Islay de una embotelladora alemana, vamos a ver cómo se comporta este jovén.
Color: Oro.
Nariz: Primero es dulce y afrutrada - frutas crudas más precisamente. Hay un olor como en una granja; notas de lana y heno. Vainilla y roble del roble. Agua le da notas distintivas de pera.

Paladar: Es bastante picante y duro tomado puro, definitivamente necesita un poco de agua. Dulzura en la forma de miel y unas bastante fuertes notas especiadas de roble de bourbon con un toque de ácidez de cáscara de naranja. El paladar es más introvertido que extrovertido, si me entendéis - a lo mejor agua va a revelar sus secretos ocultos. Con agua: (afortunadamente) el agua le da más dulzura al paladar, también hay un poco de pera, lichi y notas amargas y crudas de jengibre y pomelo. Hmmm. Definitivamente falta un poco de profundidad, pero eh, estamos hablando de un whisky que tiene solo 6 años así que…
Final: De medio largo con notas de pomelo & roble.
En mi humilde opinion es un joven un poco mono-dimensional y desequilibrado. A lo mejor es demasiado ácido para mí, un poco más dulzura en el paladar no haría daño. Le gustará a alquien pero no es para mi gusto.
