Benriach 1994, Peated Tawny Port Finish, Specially Selected and Bottled for Finland, 18 yo, Cask#3585, 301 bottles. 49,6%.

A special single cask bottling for the Finnish market. Beforehand the combination of port wine and smoke wasn't in my opinion the most ideal one - let's see how it worked out.

Nose: Smoked tea (Lapsang souchong), sweet soya sauce, ripe dark fruits, notes of port wine in the background, leather, coconut milk.

Palate: Winey, through a cloud of smoke strong espresso, not as sweet as the nose suggests, cinnamon, red currant.

Finish: Sweet and sour, winey, espresso, liquorice, smoke, a little bit metallic, fairly short.

The best part of this whisky is clearly the nose. Not a bad whisky at all, but the weakest link is the finish which is too short for my taste. An interesting bottling from a great distillery. What comes to the finishings, personally I prefer sherried Benriachs.

Una botella especial de malta única para el mercado finlandés. De antemano la combinación de vino de oporto y humo no fue en mi opinión la más ideal - vamos a ver cómo resultó. 


Nariz: Té ahumado (Lapsang souchong), salsa de soya dulce, frutas oscuras un poco pasadas, toques de vino de oporto en el fondo, piel, leche de coco.

Paladar: Vinoso, a través de una nube de humo expresso fuerte,  no tan dulce como sugiere la nariz, canela, grosella roja.

Final: Agridulce, vinoso, expresso, regaliz, humo, un poco metálico, bastante corto.

La mejor parte de este whisky es claramente la nariz. No es de ninguna manera un whisky malo, pero el punto más débil es el final que está demasiado corto para mi gusto.Una botella interesante de una destilería fabulosa. Hablando de los acabados, personalmente prefiero Benriachs que han sido acabados en barriles de jerez.
