The Whiskyman Bowmore 2001. Aged 11 years. Bourbon cask. 50,6 %.

I just discovered that yours truly has totally neglected in this blog the one and only & almighty Bowmore, so it’s time to do some justice to that injustice.

Color: Straw

Nose: The first impression is a little bit shy before it opens up, but there are some maritime notes (as expected from an Islay malt), such as sea-air and sea weed. Some tarry and ashy notes come forward . After fifteen minutes emerge yellow tropical fruits such as mango and banana. Fresh butter. Sweet malted barley leads the way to the finish.  If you sniff it too hard you’ll find some harsh & sharp elements (hot alcohol) , so don’t do that  - save your nostrills.

Palate: Sweet’n sharp.  Fairly thick in body, covers your mouth beautifully.  Some tar and peat smoke. Unripe bananas, grapefruit, ginger. Lemon notes come in the form of limoncello.

Finish: Grapefruit. Condensed milk and fresh mint. Black pepper brings heat to the medium length finish.

Simply a good bottling and no flaws detected - recommended unconditionally.

Acabo de darme cuenta de que hasta ahora el suscrito ha omitido totalmente el inigualable y todopoderoso Bowmore en este blog, así que ya es hora de que haga justicia a esta injusticia.

Color: Paja.

Nariz: La primera impresión es un poco tímida antes de abrirse, pero hay algunas notas marítimas (como es de esperar de una malta de Islay), por ejemplo aire marino y alga. Se aparecen algunas notas de brea y ceniza. Después de quince minutos emergen unos toques de frutas amarillas y tropicales como por ejemplo mango y plátano. Mantequilla fresca. Cebada dulce malteada sirve de quía hacia el final. Si lo aspiras con demasiado fuerza encontrarás algunas notas duras y fuertes (alcohol caliente), así que no lo hagas – evitas estropearte las fosas nasales.

Paladar: Dulce y fuerte. De bastante cuerpo, llena la boca hermosamente. Un poco de brea y humo de turba. Plátanos verdes, pomelo, jengibre. Unas notas de limón se presentan en forma de limoncello.

Final: Pomelo. Leche condensada y menta fresca. Pimienta negra lleva calor al final de largo medio.

Simplemente un buen embotellamiento, no tiene ningunos defectos . Lo recomiendo sin condiciones.
